WELCOME to the James E. Taliaferro Sports Complex and THANK YOU for joining us for the VMBC Blue Ridge Regional held at the Salem Football Stadium. There will be over 20 high school bands from all over the state of Virginia competing and performing. We hope you will enjoy your visit to Salem and will find the information below helpful as you plan your trip.

From the North - Take I-81 South to Exit 141. Follow the signs to Salem. From the exit ramp, take Virginia Route 419 South. Continue to follow signs towards the Salem Civic Center.
From the South - Take I-81 North to Exit 141. Follow the signs to Salem. From the exit ramp, take Virginia Route 419 South. Continue to follow signs towards the Salem Civic Center.
From U.S. 220 - Take the Franklin Road exit to Route 419. Follow route 419 past Brambleton Avenue and Apperson Drive (about 8 miles). Take a left at Boulevard Roanoke and go 1/4 mile to entrance on right.

Bag Check Policy - Safety is of the highest priority at Salem Stadium. All guests will be subject to a bag check
before entering Salem Stadium. The following items are prohibited at Salem Stadium, but not limited to:
• Outside Food or Beverages
• Coolers – unless containing medical supplies
• Umbrellas
•Pets – excluding service animals
• Fireworks or Explosives
• Weapons
Such items will be prohibited from being brought into Salem Stadium. There is no storage area for these items.
 

Banners, Signs, and Flags - Banners, signs and flags are allowed in Salem Stadium as long as they do not impede another spectator’s view of the event and are not covering any venue signage. Salem Stadium Management reserves the right to remove any banner, sign, or flag that is in violation with this code.
 

Code of Conduct - When attending an event, you are required to refrain from following behaviors:
• Behavior that is unruly, disruptive, or illegal in nature.
• Intoxication or other signs of impairment that results in irresponsible behavior.
• Foul or abusive language or obscene gestures.
• Interference with the progress of the event (including throwing objects onto the playing surface).
• Failing to follow instructions of event personnel.
• Verbal or physical harassment of participant, officials, fans or event personnel. Event attendees are
responsible for their conduct. Event staff will promptly intervene to support an environment where fans
can enjoy the event free from the above behavior. Event attendees that violate these provisions may be
subject to ejection without refund.
Restrooms - Restrooms are located throughout Salem Stadium.
Smoking - Smoking is prohibited in the seating and concourse areas of Salem Stadium.
